My mom is 73, and has terminal cancer. Will she have to reapply for medicaid if she moves to a different state?

Mom is disabled, diabetic, a cardiac patient, has early onset dementia and has been given 6 months to a year to live with cancer. I want to relocate her to my home in another state to care for her. I worry that she'll lose her benefits or has a gap in her benefits at the least. I am a stay at home mom, my husband owns a new business and is retired military. His ex gets 21% of his monthly checks. We cant afford to take on major medical bills.
