How does one browse the internet and avoid all the nasty ads?

I'm sick of all the ual ads everywhere. I see them on tv, in magasines, giant billboards, and EVERYWHERE! We are totally overualised. American society sells . I come on the internet to escape in a way. It's not like the real world; yet still, perhaps even more so, I am bombarded with ads trying to sell , or using to sell products or things of ual nature. How in the heck can I surf the net and completely avoid such things? It feels impossible. I just want to have the choice not to come across such things. I know there's not much I can do in real life other than chage channels or flip pages and so on. So I've accepted it. But on the internet, is there something I can install that will help to filter out the things I find offensive without limiting my ability to surf? I need censors. Help!
