Do you feel bad for the Somali Pirates after hearing this?

It's clear from some of the answers that the people have no idea of what is really going on there. The country of Somalia is an anarchy. Its government was overthrown in 1991 and the infrastructure fell apart. As a result, it has no coast guard to defend its waters from foreign ships who are taking advantage of the situation by over fishing (which is how many Somalians earned their livelihood) and dumping toxic waste. Some Somali fishermen banded together to try to guard their waters from these ships. Over time, they discovered that looting cargo became much more lucrative and they started getting help from the warlords who now run their country. As long as the situation in Somalia remains as bad as it is, the piracy will continue.
