1994 toyota camry 6 cylinder stalling out?

my camry is stalling out at random times and once it stalls it doesnt want to fire it cranks but doest turn over ive been told it could be a fuel pump but i have always been told once they go out they go out and if i let my car cool off for a couple hours it will start and run any ideas
